Pectin is a type of soluble fiber naturally present in many plant-based foods. In the context of nutrition, soluble fibers are known for their ability to form a gel-like texture when combined with water in the digestive tract, which may influence the way certain nutrients are processed as part of a balanced diet.*
Like other soluble fibers, pectin is generally not digested by the human body. This characteristic allows it to contribute to the volume of the food bolus and to support a feeling of satiety within a balanced dietary framework.* However, this supplement is not intended for calorie control purposes, but rather for a specific use related to the structural properties of pectins.
In PectaSol®, pectins are hydrolyzed, meaning they are broken down into smaller fragments in order to reduce their molecular weight. This transformation is designed to modify their physicochemical characteristics compared with conventional dietary pectins. The pectins used are derived from the albedo of citrus fruits, the white inner layer located beneath the peel.
Pectins are complex polysaccharides found in the cell walls of plants. They play a structural role by contributing to the cohesion and integrity of plant tissues.
They are naturally present in many plant-based foods, including apples, citrus fruits, apricots, carrots, tomatoes and potatoes. In a typical diet, these pectins have a high molecular weight and remain primarily within the digestive tract.
PectaSol® is a refined nutraceutical ingredient derived from citrus fruit peels, including lemon, lime, orange and grapefruit.
It is produced using a patented, controlled enzymatic process designed to modify the structure of naturally occurring pectins, resulting in fragments with specific physicochemical characteristics. These fragments differ from standard food-grade pectins in terms of molecular size and behavior.
The natural balance between sodium and potassium is carefully monitored to remain comparable to that naturally found in citrus fruits.
Clinical data specifically addressing hydrolyzed pectic fragments and their physiological fate after ingestion remain limited. In accordance with current regulations, no therapeutic claims can be made in this regard.
However, dietary pectins are widely described in scientific literature for their physiological role within the digestive tract, particularly in relation to intestinal transit and carbohydrate management as part of a balanced diet.*
In scientific literature, modified citrus pectins such as PectaSol® have been studied for their potential interactions with certain biological markers, including galectin-3. Galectin-3 is a protein involved in various cellular communication pathways and has been the subject of ongoing research in the fields of cellular function, immune balance and healthy ageing. These observations are part of exploratory research and do not constitute therapeutic claims.
Unlike conventional dietary pectins, which have a high molecular weight and remain primarily within the digestive tract, PectaSol® undergoes a patented, pH- and temperature-controlled enzymatic process. This process results in a more uniform low molecular weight profile (below 15,000 Daltons) and a low degree of esterification (maximum 5%), characteristics that distinguish it from standard food-grade pectins.
These specific structural properties are the focus of ongoing scientific investigation and are intended to support the product’s consistency and reproducibility.
PectaSol® is intended for individuals seeking a nutraceutical ingredient researched in the context of cellular health and overall wellness, as part of a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle.*
PectaSol® can be incorporated into a broader nutritional routine, in combination with antioxidant or multivitamin formulations such as AntiOxidant Synergy, Daily 3® or Daily 2®, depending on individual needs.
Its use may also be part of general lifestyle recommendations:
In Western diets, daily pectin intake is generally low, reflecting reduced consumption of fruits and vegetables.
The recommended dose for PectaSol® is 15 g per day, corresponding to 3 scoops, to be taken according to the instructions provided on the packaging.
The pectic fragments used in PectaSol® have a molecular weight below 15 kDa, compared with up to 400 kDa for non-modified pectins.
Scientific publications have suggested that the valorization of citrus industry by-products for pectin production represents a coherent option from an environmental perspective.
PectaSol® is guaranteed to be free from gluten, dairy products, artificial colors, artificial preservatives, artificial flavors and GMOs.
